What we like
- Four legs eliminate the wobble that plagues two-leg desks at full extension
- 440 lb weight capacity handles CPUs, dual arms, and heavy accessories without strain
- Supports desktops up to 83 inches wide for serious ultrawide or dual-monitor builds
- Dual motors lift smoothly and quietly compared to single-motor budget desks
- Memory panel with four height presets and anti-collision detection
Could be better
- Takes up significantly more floor space than a standard two-leg frame
- Assembly is longer and heavier — plan on two people and 90+ minutes
- Frame only; you'll need to source or buy a compatible wide desktop separately
- Overkill if you're running a single monitor on a 48-inch top
Full Review
The standard E7 is already one of the better two-leg standing desks under $500. The E7 Max takes that platform, adds two more legs, and bumps the weight capacity to 440 pounds. If you’ve ever watched a wide desktop shimmy at full height under the weight of two monitors and a CPU, you already know why this matters.
Stability Where It Counts
Two-leg desks cantilever the load from a single column at each end, which is fine for a 48-inch top and a single monitor. Push past 60 inches with heavy gear and the desk starts to flex. The E7 Max adds intermediate legs that plant the load directly under the work surface, and the difference at 46 inches of extension is obvious — typing vibration doesn’t travel through the frame the way it does on a two-leg setup.
Built for Wide Desktops
The telescoping crossbar stretches to accept desktops up to 83 inches wide. That opens the door to L-shaped builds, dedicated ultrawide setups, or the kind of deep work surface you can’t get from most consumer desks. Lift is still dual-motor three-stage, so you get the full 22.8” to 48.4” range regardless of top size.
The Trade-Offs
Four legs mean more floor footprint and more assembly. The frame alone weighs over 100 pounds boxed, and you’ll want a second person to flip it upright once the legs are attached. You’re also buying just the frame — pair it with FlexiSpot’s bamboo top, a butcher block, or a third-party desktop you already own.
Who Should Buy This
Buy the E7 Max if you’re running a dual- or triple-monitor workstation, a wide ultrawide setup, or an L-desk configuration where two-leg wobble would drive you crazy. If you’re running a single monitor on a 48 or 55-inch top, the standard E7 saves you $150 and enough floor space to matter. This is the right desk when your gear finally outgrew a consumer frame but you’re not ready to spend $1,200 on a commercial-grade Uplift or Vari.
