Full Review

The LG 27UN850-W hits a compelling balance between image quality, connectivity, and ergonomics for productivity users. It’s not flashy, but it does everything a remote worker needs and does it well.

Image Quality

The IPS panel delivers wide viewing angles and accurate, vibrant color. With factory calibration covering 99% sRGB and 95% DCI-P3, this monitor is genuinely usable for photo and video editing without purchasing a separate calibrator. Text rendering at 163 PPI is noticeably sharper than 1440p alternatives — a real pleasure for coding, writing, and spreadsheet work.

The HDR 400 badge should be taken with a grain of salt. Without local dimming or higher peak brightness, the HDR experience is marginal.

USB-C: The Killer Feature

The USB-C port with 60W power delivery is a major convenience for laptop users. A single cable handles video, data, and charging, which pairs beautifully with MacBooks and modern USB-C laptops. Two downstream USB-A ports add modest hub functionality. This alone eliminates an entire dock from your desk.

The Stand

Slim bezels and a white/silver design look clean on a desk, and the included stand is one of the best in this price class — height, tilt, and pivot adjustment that many competitors lock behind more expensive tiers. VESA mounting is also supported if you prefer an arm.

Who Should Buy This

Remote workers, designers, developers, and anyone who values color accuracy and clean connectivity in a single 27-inch package. If you use a USB-C laptop, this monitor will simplify your desk setup dramatically.
