Full Review

Secretlab built its reputation making premium gaming chairs, and the MAGNUS Pro brings that same obsessive attention to material quality and engineering to the standing desk category. This isn’t just a desk — it’s a system.

All-Metal Construction

Where virtually every other standing desk uses an MDF or laminate wood top, the MAGNUS Pro’s surface is cold-rolled steel. The result is a desk that looks and feels entirely different from anything else on the market. It’s dense, has zero flex, and develops a subtle patina over time. The matte black finish is consistent across the surface and legs, creating a monolithic aesthetic.

The Magnetic Ecosystem

The headline feature is the MAGPAD system: built-in magnetic channels run along the surface and frame perimeter. Secretlab’s proprietary accessories — cable management trays, monitor arm mounts, phone holders, LED light bars — attach and reposition without tools. The cable channels are integrated into the surface itself, so wires disappear rather than being routed under the desk. The result is the cleanest cable management of any standing desk available.

The ecosystem lock-in is the trade-off: you’re buying into Secretlab’s accessory lineup. But if you’re building a serious workstation from scratch, the cohesion is worth it.

Motor Performance

The dual motors are whisper-quiet, under 40 dB. Transitions are smooth and remarkably stable — the steel top mass that would create instability in a lighter desk seems to actually dampen vibration. At standing height, there’s virtually no wobble.

Who Should Buy This

Workstation enthusiasts who want the best-looking standing desk available and are willing to pay for it. The MAGNUS Pro is for people who care about the aesthetic as much as the ergonomics — it’s the desk equivalent of a mechanical watch. If you just need reliable sit-stand with a wood surface, the Uplift V2 achieves the ergonomics for $400 less.
