What we like

  • Works with Apple HomeKit, Alexa, and Google Assistant natively
  • App control with full brightness and color temperature adjustment
  • Foldable arm keeps it compact when not in use
  • Daylight mode (6500K) is genuinely good for focused work

Could be better

  • 220 lumens is dim for large desks — better as a task lamp than room fill

  • No USB charging port on the lamp itself

Full Review

The Yeelight LED Desk Lamp Pro sits in an oddly empty niche: a desk lamp that actually plays well with your smart home. Most desk lamps at this price are dumb — a switch and maybe a USB port. This one connects to HomeKit, Alexa, and Google Assistant out of the box, and the app gives you granular control over brightness and color temperature.

Smart Home Integration That Actually Works

The standout feature is the triple-platform compatibility. Setting it up in the Yeelight app takes a few minutes, and from there it shows up in Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, or Google Home depending on your ecosystem. You can drop it into automations — sunrise schedules, “good morning” routines, motion triggers — the same way you would a smart bulb. For a desk lamp, that’s rare at this price point.

HomeKit users in particular will appreciate that this isn’t a cloud-only integration. Response times are snappy and it doesn’t require a separate hub.

Brightness and Light Quality

At 6500K, the daylight setting is crisp and clean — the kind of light that makes it easier to stay focused during long work sessions. The color temperature range (2700K–6500K) is wide enough to shift from warm evening ambience to sharp task lighting. The app lets you dial in any point across that range, not just preset modes.

The honest caveat: 220 lumens tops out lower than most traditional desk lamps. If you’re lighting a large workspace or need bright overhead-style coverage, this won’t cut it on its own. It excels as a focused task lamp positioned close to your work surface.

Build and Design

The foldable arm is a genuine convenience — it collapses down flat when you’re done, which matters if desk real estate is tight. The body feels solid without being heavy. Touch controls on the base are responsive, though the Yeelight app is where you’ll spend most of your time once you get used to it.

There’s no USB charging port, which is a common omission in this category that feels more glaring on a $65 lamp.

Who Should Buy This

Buy this if you’re already invested in a smart home ecosystem and want your desk lamp to participate in it. The HomeKit support alone separates it from the competition at this price. Skip it if you just want a bright lamp with no fuss — a non-smart option will give you more lumens for less money. If you want something in between, the BenQ ScreenBar is worth comparing, though it’s monitor-mounted and lacks the smart home integration.
