Full Review

This is the Ergotron LX — arguably the best single-monitor arm money can buy — in white. The finish is the only meaningful difference from the black version. If you’ve built a white or light-wood desk setup and the matte black arm sticks out like a sore thumb, this is the fix.

Same Arm, Different Coat

Ergotron didn’t cut corners on the white version. The cast aluminum construction, constant-force spring mechanism, and adjustment range are identical to the standard model. You get the same 13 inches of vertical lift, 25 inches of reach, and full 360-degree rotation for switching between landscape and portrait. Every articulation point feels precise, not cheap.

If you’re already familiar with the LX, there’s no learning curve here. If you’re new to it: the constant-force spring is what separates this arm from budget alternatives. Once you calibrate the tension to your monitor’s weight with the included Allen wrench, it holds any position with zero drift — no sagging overnight, no wobble during typing.

Aesthetic Fit

The white LX was clearly designed with Mac users in mind. It pairs cleanly with Apple Studio Displays, white LG panels, and the white-on-white desk setups that have become common in home offices. It also blends well against white walls when used on a wall-mount post. If your desk is an IKEA LAGKAPTEN in white or a white Uplift surface, this arm won’t break the visual flow.

That said, white surfaces accumulate scuffs more visibly than matte black. Grease from hands, cable rub marks, and general desk grime will show faster. Wipe it down occasionally and it stays sharp.

Installation and Cable Management

Setup mirrors the black version exactly. The clamp fits desktops up to 2.4 inches thick; a grommet mount is included if you’d rather drill a hole. Run the tension adjustment once at install and you’re done. The integrated cable channel along the arm keeps display cables tidy, though routing is external rather than hidden inside the arm.

Who Should Buy This

Anyone running a white or light-toned desk setup who wants the best single-monitor arm available. If aesthetics don’t matter to you, the black LX is often slightly cheaper — buy that instead. But if visual cohesion matters, the white version delivers identical performance without the mismatch. Pairs especially well with 24–34 inch monitors in the 10–25 lb range.
