Full Review

The MOUNTUP Dual Monitor Arm sits in a crowded budget bracket alongside the Huanuo and a dozen near-identical alternatives. At $50 for a full gas-spring dual arm, it’s hard not to be skeptical — but MOUNTUP consistently earns its spot as one of the better options at this price.

Build and Setup

The arm is steel with plastic cable management clips. It’s not going to feel like an Ergotron LX — the joints are lighter and the overall construction has a budget feel. That said, it’s sturdy enough once mounted and won’t be flexing or drifting on its own. Setup takes about 20-30 minutes: attach the clamp or grommet base, thread the pole, attach the arms, and mount your monitors. The instructions are passable. The hardest part is tuning the gas spring tension bolts, which require trial and error for heavier monitors.

Articulation and Adjustability

This is where MOUNTUP earns its keep. Both arms offer full-motion articulation — tilt, swivel, pan, and 360° rotation for portrait mode. The gas spring counterbalance holds position without constant tightening, which cheaper friction-based arms can’t claim. For 24”-27” monitors in the 10-17 lb range, movement feels smooth and repositioning is genuinely one-handed. Go heavier or larger and the experience degrades quickly, so stick within the rated spec.

Desk Space and Cable Management

Swapping two monitor stands for this arm recovers a meaningful chunk of desk real estate. The integrated cable management channels aren’t elegant — the clips pop off easily — but they do keep cords from dangling freely. Routed properly, your setup will look considerably cleaner than it did before.

Who Should Buy This

The MOUNTUP Dual Monitor Arm is the right call if you’re running two monitors up to 27” and want gas-spring articulation without spending $150+ on an Ergotron. It’s ideal for home office setups where you occasionally reposition monitors but don’t need professional-grade build quality. If you’re running heavier displays or want something that will survive years of daily adjustment, step up to the Ergotron LX Dual or the Amazon Basics arm (rebadged Ergotron). But for the price, MOUNTUP is hard to beat.
